Trinity Park, 2401 University Dr. -
Walk, run, crawl, bike, scooter, or skate on 100+ miles of riverside paths in the 252-acre park. Pick up a basketball game on the colorful courts under the West Lancaster Avenue bridge.

Get the kiddies some exercise at this all-inclusive, fully-accessible playground with 57,000 sqft of rubber surfacing that allows easy access for wheelchairs + state-of-the-art adaptive equipment.
Candleridge Park, 4301 French Lake Dr. -
Looking for some classic calisthenics? Candleridge Park has a calisthenics gym with a horizontal bar and ab benches for bodyweight fitness training. Follow the signs for a guided workout or invent your own.
Z Boaz Park, 5250 Old Benbrook Rd. -
Exercise your brain + body with a strategic game of disc golf. The hilly park has 18 holes spread through 6,600 linear feet of trees.

Pro tip: Watch out for the creek on the last five holes.
Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge, 9601 Fossil Ridge Rd. - Need a little more fresh air? The refuge has 3,621 acres of prairie land with 20+ miles of hiking trails. Hop in a canoe or kayak for a water-based workout.

For the first time since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Tarrant County has dropped the community threat level to 'low' with less than 200 new cases per 100,000 residents in the last week. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)
Civic -
The City Council will vote on the proposed redistricting map at City Hall (200 Texas St.) tomorrow, March 29 at 10 a.m. The final map, referred to as Anna, will allow Hispanic voters to elect a representative to the council, which would increase from nine to 11 members. The vote would affect the May 2023 municipal elections.
Closing -
Como Montessori School (4001 Littlepage St.) will close its doors in May. The Fort Worth ISD K-8 school has only 186 students enrolled, a 54% drop since 2005. The district will reallocate resources and provide transfer opportunities to Daggett Montessori (K-5) and Applied Learning Academy (6-8). 🏫 (Fort Worth Report)

Funky Town Fridge plans to purchase the former Stop Six grocery store, Morning Supermarket (5037 E. Rosedale St.). The community fridge project hopes to revamp the building as a distribution center for fresh produce, space for gatherings, classes, daycare + toy drives. The store closed in 2021, creating a food desert in the area. (Fort Worth Report)

Over the weekend, Bruce Lowrie Chevy (711 SW Loop 820) gifted a new 2022 red Chevy Silverado to the 16-year-old driver who survived a powerful tornado last week. The teen’s car was picked up and swirled around while he was driving to a job interview at Whataburger. Don’t worry, he is safe and on his way to his first day of work. 🛻 (NBC DFW)

The final curtain dropped at The Grand Berry Theatre (2712 Weisenberger St.) yesterday after a goodbye screening of the 2022 Academy Awards program. The only arthouse theater in Fort Worth, The Grand Berry opened in 2018 to screen local and indie films and to create a community of Cowtown film buffs.
After four years, owners and community activists Jimmy and Brooke Sweeney are dimming the house lights. Stay tuned, movie-lovers, for new film opportunities to come. |
