Step inside some of the oldest and most beautiful houses in the Fairmount neighborhood at the 41st Annual Tour of Historic Homes this Mother’s Day weekend, Saturday, May 13 + Sunday, May 14.

The annual event will be bigger than ever this year with the addition of a neighborhood fair at Fairmount Park with music from local artists, activities for kids, and food trucks.

The history of Fairmount

The Fairmount National Historic District in the Near Southside is part of the nation’s richest collection of turn-of-the-century housing. The 20 subdivisions were platted between 1883 and 1907 and were once occupied by business executives, doctors, lawyers + educators.

With help from the community, the area is being revitalized to restore its glory. Events like this weekend’s Home Tour raises money to benefit neighborhood improvements, infrastructure, parks + schools and programs.
